Does the copper version really have different glass?
Yes. Chrome and black ship with white opal glass, copper ships with amber glass. Same lamp, noticeably different light: opal reads cool and even, amber reads warm and vintage. Pick by the light you want, not just the metal.
How does the dimming work?
It is stepless, so brightness slides rather than clicks. There is a control knob on the stem, and the supplier pairs this dimmable version with a remote control, which ships in the box per the packing list.
Why three tiers of glass?
Diffusion. Each tier catches the light and passes it downward and outward, so you get an even glow across the table instead of a bright point in your eyeline. That is the whole logic of Danish layered lighting, and it is why the form has never left production.
