Is it real rattan?
No. The weave is molded PP (polypropylene) made to look like natural rattan, not the genuine material. Because it is molded rather than hand-woven cane, it holds its shape on a desk or console and stays put without sagging or unraveling over time.
How do the cables get in and out?
Open cutouts at each end let cords pass through cleanly while the power strip and the slack stay hidden inside. You route the cables you actually use out one or both ends, and the tangle stays out of view. There is no drilling or assembly involved.
