How long is this pendant, and will it fit over my desk or table?
The fixture runs 51.2 inches (130 cm) long but only 2.4 inches wide and 1.9 inches deep, so it reads as a slim bar rather than a bulky fixture. That length suits a desk, a dining or meeting table, or a reception area. Leave roughly the same clearance you would for any linear pendant so the light spreads evenly along the surface below.
Can I adjust how low it hangs?
Yes. Twin suspension cables with a lifting lock let you set the drop, and the hanging length adjusts up to 59 inches (150 cm). You can hang it low over a table or higher in a room with tall ceilings, and the lock holds the height you choose.
Is it dimmable, and can I change the color of the light?
It is dimmable and shifts across a 3000K to 6500K range, so you can move from a warm evening tone to a cool, working-daylight tone. The included battery-free remote handles both brightness and color temperature, and a standard wall switch turns it on and off. One thing to note up front: it is not built for a rotary or triac wall dimmer, so dim from the remote rather than wiring it to a dimmer switch.
Is the light harsh or glary?
No. A double-layer acrylic diffuser washes the room in soft, even light instead of the hotspots you get from exposed bulbs. Color rendering sits at CRI 80, which keeps finishes reading reasonably true.
What is it actually made of?
A black walnut top plate with natural grain runs the full length of the bar, set on an iron body that keeps the slim profile rigid across the span. So the wood you see is real walnut over a metal frame, not a printed finish.
How does it install, and do I need an electrician?
It hardwires into a ceiling box and runs on 120 to 227V, with an 18 inch (46 cm) canopy covering the connection and a fixture weight of 6.7 lbs (3 kg). Hardwiring into mains power is a job most people will want a licensed electrician to handle if they are not comfortable with wiring.
Do I ever have to replace the bulbs?
No. The light source is an integrated 36W LED, so there are no separate bulbs to swap out over the life of the fixture.
