How does the pull chain work?

Is the whole lamp really glass?
Almost. The dome is opal white glass, the tube stem and round base are clear glass. The chrome collar and the metal lamp holder inside it are the only metal, and the collar is the only metal you see.
What does in the Bauhaus tradition mean?
It is built from primary geometry: a dome, a cylinder, and a circle, with every part visible and doing a job. That reduction is the Bauhaus idea, and this lamp follows the tradition rather than decorating around it.
How do I clean it?
