Light in layers

Three tiers of glass that pass the light down, not into your eyes.

Strata, The tiers
01

The tiers

Three cascading glass shades stack from wide to narrow. Each one diffuses the light and hands it to the next, which is why the layered form has held up in Danish lighting for a century.

Strata, The stem
02

The stem

A metal stem with a spool detail rises from a flat disc base, finish-matched in chrome, copper, or gloss black. The control knob sits on the stem where your hand expects it.

Strata, The dimming
03

The dimming

Stepless, not clicked. The supplier pairs this version with a remote, so brightness runs smoothly from task light to a low evening setting.

4 finishes

Which one is yours

A swatch tells you the colour. This tells you the room it belongs in.

Strata in Chrome, in a workspace

Strata in Chrome

Machined, not decorated

Silver belongs on a desk that is already laptop, glass and metal. It keeps company with the hardware instead of competing with it, which is why it is the safe answer for a setup you did not design so much as accumulate.

Strata in Copper, in a workspace

Strata in Copper

Warmth with an edge to it

Copper picks up the same warmth as gold but reads a shade more industrial, which keeps it from tipping decorative. It belongs on a desk with leather, brick or dark wood already in the frame.

Strata in Black, in a workspace

Strata in Black

The one you do not have to think about

Black recedes into a desk and lets the work be the loudest thing on it. It is the finish that photographs cleanly on a call, holds up against every wood tone, and is almost never the decision anyone regrets.

Strata in Brass, in a workspace

Strata in Brass

Warmth, in a deliberately small dose

Gold works on the light a room already has rather than adding any of its own. Keep it to one piece per surface and it reads considered. Put three on the same desk and it reads like a showroom.

Questions

Good to know before you equip.

Does the copper version really have different glass?

Yes. Chrome and black ship with white opal glass, copper ships with amber glass. Same lamp, noticeably different light: opal reads cool and even, amber reads warm and vintage. Pick by the light you want, not just the metal.

How does the dimming work?

It is stepless, so brightness slides rather than clicks. There is a control knob on the stem, and the supplier pairs this dimmable version with a remote control, which ships in the box per the packing list.

Why three tiers of glass?

Diffusion. Each tier catches the light and passes it downward and outward, so you get an even glow across the table instead of a bright point in your eyeline. That is the whole logic of Danish layered lighting, and it is why the form has never left production.

Where does it work best?

Living room side tables, studies, and bedsides, per the supplier and per common sense. It wants to sit at seated eye height, where the layered profile is doing its glare-control job and its silhouette is visible.

Which finish should I choose?

Chrome is the cool, classic read and disappears into modernist rooms. Gloss black is the graphic choice against light walls. Copper is the outlier: with its amber glass it behaves more like a warm accent lamp than a neutral task light.

How do I clean it?

The glass tiers wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth, and the metal stem takes a dry cloth. Skip abrasive cleaners on both, they will scratch glass and dull the finish.

Do you sell to businesses or in volume?

Yes. Tiered pricing starts at the second unit and the volume price lands at five, which suits a pair of bedsides plus a lobby or a small hospitality order. This is a freight-heavy glass fixture, so larger volumes are quoted individually rather than off the standard curve.
