Yes, the body is cordless with an 800 mAh rechargeable lithium cell inside. It tops up through a single USB-C port on the base using the same kind of cable that already lives on your desk, and a USB-C cable is included in the box.
Will the light shine in my eyes at a desk or nightstand?

How do I control the brightness?
It uses a touch-sensitive switch. A tap on the touch pad steps the light up or down, so there is no separate knob or physical button to fuss with.
