Is the marble real?
Yes. The shade is a thin-walled cylinder of natural marble, which is why the light shows real veining and why no two lamps match. Expect yours to differ from the photos; that is the material working as intended.
Is the metal copper or brass?
The fluted tube is H65 brass, a copper-zinc alloy, polished and treated against rust and discoloration. Suppliers use the words loosely; we checked, and brass is the accurate one.
How does it install?
It is a hardwired wall fixture controlled from your wall switch. The backplate mounts to the wall and an electrician will have it wired in under an hour; if a sconce hangs there today, this replaces it directly.
How big is it?
The fixture stands 15 inches tall and about 6 inches wide, sized to flank a mirror or headboard without dominating the wall.
Does the light change color?
The color temperature is set for the fixture rather than switched on the wall, and we list what ships in the specs. If you need a specific tone for a project, ask us before ordering.
Where does it work best?
In pairs beside a mirror or bed, singly in an entry or hallway, and anywhere the wall deserves one considered object. It is at home in an office corridor too.
Why does it cost more than an ordinary sconce?
Stone and brass. The shade is cut from natural marble rather than molded, the tube is real brass, and the piece weighs 6.6 pounds. It is priced like a fixture, not like a fitting.
