Do I have to drill into my desk to mount it?
No. Two tool-free C-clamps grip the underside of the desk and tighten by hand with a thumb screw, so there are no holes and no hardware to install. If you ever move or rearrange, the tray lifts off clean and leaves your desk untouched.
Will the clamp fit my desktop thickness?
The C-clamp fits desktops 1 to 4.5 cm thick (0.4 to 1.8 in). Measure your desktop edge against that range before ordering, since a top thinner or thicker than that will not clamp securely.
What is the difference between the Retractable and Fixed options?
The Retractable telescopes from 16.9 to 29.1 in (43 to 74 cm) so you can extend it past the desk edge to reach cables, then slide it back when you are done. The Fixed holds at one set length for a clean, permanent install. Choose Retractable if you want occasional access; Fixed if you set it once and leave it.
What can it actually hold?
It is built to carry a power strip, chargers, data cables, and the slack you keep meaning to deal with, plus a small speaker. The tray is carbon steel, thickened for load-bearing, so it handles the weight of a loaded strip and adapters rather than just loose cords.
Will my power strip and adapters overheat up there?
The bed and sides are an open slotted grid rather than a sealed box, so a power strip or adapter stays ventilated instead of boxed in. Air moves around the gear, which is the right setup for things that run warm.
How much room does it take up under the desk?
The tray is about 14 cm wide and 4 cm deep, with a bracket drop of 19 cm (5.5 x 1.6 x 7.5 in). That is the space it hangs into below your desktop, so check that your knees and chair clear it, especially toward the back of the desk.
Which color and finish are available?
It comes in matte black or matte white, each in Retractable or Fixed. Since it mounts underneath and out of sight, the finish mostly matters for the bit visible at the desk edge; pick the one that disappears against your setup.
